SINGAPORE : The Writ of Election for Singapore’s next General Election (GE) has been issued.
Nomination Day is on Wednesday, April 27, and Polling Day for the GE will be on Saturday, May 7.
Polling Day is also declared a public holiday.

Some 2.35 million voters are eligible to vote in the coming polls.
There will be 87 wards, carved out into 12 Single Member Constituencies (SMC) and 15 Group Representation Constituencies (GRC).
The election deposit for each candidate standing for election will be S$16,000 and nomination papers can be filed from 11 am and noon on April 27.
There will be nine nomination centres for the coming GE.
Candidates for Nee Soon and Sembawang GRC will file their papers at Admiralty Secondary School.
For East Coast GRC, Pasir-Ris Punggol GRC and the Punggol East SMC, it is at Bedok View Secondary School.
Deyi Secondary School is the nomination centre for the Ang Mo Kio, Aljunied and Bishan-Toa Payoh GRCs and the Sengkang West single seat.
For the Hougang constituency and Tampines GRC, it is at Dunman Secondary School.
Candidates for the Bukit Panjang division and Holland-Bukit Timah GRC will file their papers at Greenridge Secondary School.
Jurong Junior College is the nomination centre for the Jurong and West Coast GRCs and the Yuhua and Pioneer single divisions.
The Singapore Chinese Girl’s School is the centre for the Moulmein-Kallang, Tanjong Pagar GRCs and the single seats of Radin Mas and Whampoa.
For the Chua Chu Kang GRC and Hong Kah North single seat, it is at South View Primary School.
Finally, for Marine Parade GRC and the single seats of Mountbatten, Joo Chiat and Potong Pasir, it is at Tao Nan School.
